How did I get into the world of interior design? I’m glad you asked!…

Before I was old enough to go to school, I would spend most of the day with my grandmother. My favorite part of the afternoon was right before nap time, when we would hang over the bed and flip through issues of House Beautiful and Better Homes & Gardens. I would pull out the big stacks of magazines from under the bed and we would lie there together, silently flipping pages and pointing out the things we liked. It was magical. I was hooked.

Fast forward a couple of decades, and I found myself in the retail furniture industry, dreaming of one day opening a store of my own that was just as magical as the pages of the magazines I still continued to flip through. I dreamed of a space that was filled with sunlight, bright and airy, with pops of color. In a word, I wanted it to be happy.

In 2008, the dream quickly turned into reality (thanks in part to my 25-year-old self’s extreme optimism and persistence!), and that November, I opened up shop on Lovers Lane, filling my new store with all the beautiful things I wanted to share with the world.  I named it stelladallas, after my great grandmother’s favorite radio soap opera.

My one-and-a-half employees and I loved bringing fresh, new ideas to the store, and our customers quickly caught on.  It started with one customer asking if I would come bring the stelladallas magic to her house — to which I happily said yes!  It was a fantastic first project, and soon enough, one client turned into two, two turned into five, and five turned into… “Oh man — I think I might be on to something here!”

Within a few years, my design business was booming, and I made the decision to close up shop at stelladallas (R.I.P.!) to focus solely on my design clients… and Amber Frazee Interior Design was born!  Serving my clients and turning their homes into beautiful places to live is truly my life’s calling, and I’m so blessed to be doing what I love!  There’s nothing like the satisfaction of working with my clients to fill their homes with beautiful pieces that reflect who they are and make them truly happy when they walk in the door.
